De Montfort University
Find out what support is available at your university or college. The information on this page was compiled by the institution themselves to ensure accuracy.
1. Mental Health Team
The team works with students to offer professional advice and support in relation to mental health difficulties, including with applying for Disabled Student Allowance (DSA). The overall aim is to assist students to reach their full potential at university, improve their employment prospects, and promote emotional wellbeing.
2. Wellbeing Team
The Wellbeing Team offers a short-term counselling service, which can be accessed by attending a Single Point of Access (SPA) appointment. Counselling may enable you to make some changes in your life. Students attending counselling say that it has helped them get back on track with their studies.
3. Healthy DMU Masterclasses
Masterclasses are resources that will support you and your studies whilst at DMU and we have developed an online programme which is available to you.
This programme includes sessions on managing pressure, emotional resilience, motivation and mindfulness.
4. De Montfort Students Union Advice and Wellbeing Team
DSU Advice and Wellbeing is a free, confidential, and independent service for current De Montfort University (DMU) students. The service has a team of advisers who can signpost, support and advise with a range of welfare and academic queries. We can advise on most academic matters from swapping course and academic hearings to student housing and student disciplinary matters. We are here to listen to any of your worries or concerns you have while being at university and have a friendly chat in the process. If we can't help you, we can also usually signpost you to someone who can.
