1. Student Counselling Service
RCS counselling team offers free in person and online counselling sessions for students. If a student wishes to discuss how counselling works or the different types of counselling available, they can reach out via email to: counselling@rcs.ac.uk. The counsellor will discuss your feelings with you, assist in exploring the underlying issues causing distress, and collaborate with you to consider potential solutions.
2. 24/7 Online Emotional Support
RCS students can access Togetherall a free online peer support community which is available 24/7. You can access the portal by registering with your academic email address. You can also take courses and read articles on health and wellbeing topics. The community is supported by clinical experts 24/7.
3. Student Disability Support
If you have a physical or sensory disability, learning difference/neurodiversity or medical condition and would like to discuss support for your studies, please contact the RCS Disability Adviser on disabilityservice@rcs.ac.uk. You can discuss support for any disability or medical condition in a confidential manner.
4. International Student Support
The RCS International Team, based in the Renfrew Street Campus, are here to assist with a range of information and support to help you throughout your student journey, from visa and immigration to welcome and orientation events. We offer a wide range of services to support your journey from applying to your chosen programme of study, through to completion of your studies at RCS.
5. Accommodation and Financial Support
The Welfare Team at RCS offer practical advice on a range of issues relating to student finance, accommodation, healthcare and funding support available to you throughout your student journey at RCS. We can also offer advice to students who are struggling to find accommodation or who are facing issues with their existing accommodation. Advice is available to both offer holders and students to help navigate you through you journey before you arrive, through to graduation.
6. Students' Union
RCS Students’ Union is the lively, colourful heart of the student experience at the Conservatoire and the great thing is every student is automatically a member. Whether it’s helping to get you settled into this exciting chapter of your life or making events to celebrate diversity within the Conservatoire – RCSSU is all about benefiting you as a student. The Student Union team are an informal ear when you’re experiencing things like homesickness and financial challenges.
7. Equality & Diversity Support
Equality and Diversity are of central importance to our working ethos at RCS. We believe that the unique identity of every single individual who works or studies here is valid and is valued and respected. The key place where issues are discussed is the Equality and Diversity Forum this group has staff and student members and aims to be representative of the institution’s diversity.
