1. Wellbeing Support

The UCO Student Support team are available throughout the week to support you if there are factors that are impacting your mental health, wellbeing or ability to study. Our team operate on an open door policy which allows them to get to know students on a one-one basis, and tailor the support offered to help you reach your full potential.

The team can assist you with financial support, stress management, family planning and learning support, to name a few.

2. Disability Support

The UCO are committed to removing barriers to learning for students with Disability, this includes; Specific Learning Differences, visual impairments, hearing impairments, mobility difficulties, autistic spectrum disorder and other long-term health conditions.

Students are encouraged to contact the Student Support Department to arrange a confidential appointment if they have or believe they may have a disability. The team will then discuss the reasonable adjustments that can be put in place to support you with classes, clinic and assessments.

3. Counselling

The UCO recognise that students may be affected by psychological, emotional and personal difficulties during their time at the UCO, which may be having an impact on their mental health, wellbeing or their ability to study.

Our diverse counselling team are available throughout the week to listen to you, without judgement or criticism, and to help you find ways to better manage some of the challenges you’re presented with.

We offer free short-term counselling to all of our students. You can request to be seen by a Male or Female counsellor when arranging an appointment, as well as counsellor from an ethnic minority background.
