1. Student Support and Wellbeing
This friendly team supports students to achieve a positive, fulfilling and enriching experience at university. The Student Life Advisers provide a confidential support service for every aspect of student life, and would be happy to talk to you about any issues or concerns which may be affecting your wellbeing.
2. Counselling and Mental Health
Our Counselling and Mental Health Team provides a free service for all students who need specialist support to enable them to manage their studies or other aspects of student life, including anxiety, trauma and bereavement. Our professionally trained and accredited Practitioners offer daily, confidential appointments Monday-Friday, in person or online.
3. Disability and Dyslexia Service
We offer support, advice and guidance to students who have a disability, medical condition, Specific Learning Difference (SpLD) or Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). We can help you to settle in, provide specialist support for studying, help with specialist equipment and software, and arrange Reasonable Adjustments for your studies or accommodation.
4. Money Advice
Money Advisers offer financial advice and support to all students. They can help with student finance issues, tuition fee queries or budgeting; advise on Universal Credit, debt management, or support for students with children; and help you apply to the University’s Hardship Fund, if you are struggling financially.
5. Careers and Employability
The Service supports students and graduates to develop their employability skills , and to plan for their careers. Students can access one-to-one information, advice and guidance or use the interactive myCareer portal for personalised support to manage their own development and employability skills, update their CV and search for jobs.
6. firstpoint
firstpoint provides advice, information and support for students during their studies. You can visit the hub in the Peirson Study and Guidance Centre on St John's campus, find guidance and resources on the web pages, or email the friendly team to ask for help on any aspect of student life.
7. International Student Support
The International Experience Team offers advice on every aspect of life as an international student in the UK. The Team also organises activities and events for our international students. You’ll never be short of an opportunity to learn all about life in the UK and at Worcester.
8. Community and Security
The team provides 24/7 in-house security for all students, staff and visitors. They provide support and advice on safety, security and welfare, and work closely with the local community and Police. Security can be contacted at any time through the main reception at St John's Campus (01905 855000) or security@worc.ac.uk
9. Accommodation and Residential Life
The Residential Life Team is part of our Accommodation Services. Team members are available at the Accommodation Hub at St John’s Campus to help with any queries for students living in university-managed accommodation. They can help you settle in, find your way around and can signpost you to support services.
10. Worcester SU Help and Advice
The Students' Union provides a free, independent, confidential and impartial advice service to all students at the University and its partner colleges. They can arrange for a representative to accompany students to meetings related to appeals, complaints, plagiarism, disciplinaries, fitness to practise or whenever support and representation is needed.
