Support for students with eating difficulties

An online support group for students with eating difficulties and disorders.

The support group offers a relaxed and safe space for students experiencing eating difficulties. You’ll have an opportunity to discuss student life, as well as share and receive advice and support for managing your eating difficulties, and your mental health more generally.

This service is provided by First Steps ED, a charity that provides care and support for people who experience eating difficulties and disorders.

What can I expect from the support group?

The group meets twice a week. When you sign up, you’ll be able to choose a time slot, and then you will be able to join the group at the same time each week.

The group meets on Tuesdays between 6-7pm.

The group is led by an experienced facilitator from the First Steps ED team. Each week, the group focuses on a chosen theme, often based on suggestions from the group.

The group has a set of guidelines designed to make it as safe as possible, including maintaining confidentiality and avoiding triggering details about weight, diets and exercise.

How to sign up

To sign up for the workshop, you will need to fill out a webform, selecting the Eating Disorder in Student Services workshop and the time you wish to attend.

Once you fill in the form, First Steps ED will send you instructions to join the group using Microsoft Teams.
