Being a student leader brings unique challenges in relation to the Black student experience. Black students are not a homogenous group, and Michelle speaks about her expectations to be the spokesperson, and the pressures involved in her leadership role. The pair challenge the stereotypical notion of representing a ‘homogenous black student voice’. This narrative is supported by our co-host, Evangel, who explores her experiences of imposter syndrome at University, and how this has unique challenges for Black students. However, through their conversation the two explore the ways in which imposter syndrome can empower leaders to bring different voices and new perspectives to the table.
